History
1983: Establishment of COMESA in GUIPUZCOA. A warehouse is opened in order to increase trading activity , holding a stock of non prime material for the market.
1993: Transferred to NAVARRA and investment in the first tinplate cutting line. We provide a greater added value to the market by adjusting the supply to the demand on time.
1994: The existing management team becomes shareholders and develops a new growth strategy:
- Trading: Consolidating sales in Spain and international expansion.
- Cutting service: New activity providing a cutting service of coils to third parties.
1997: As result of this strategy, demand increases, and second cutting line is installed.
1998: In January, the ISO 9001 certification is obtained.
2000: International expansion begins with the opening of a new cutting service in POLAND. Third cutting line.
2001: A new service centre in LA RIOJA is opened. Forth cutting line.
2002: A new service centre in ASTURIAS is opened. Fifth cutting line.
2008: Cutting line in Asturias is moved to Navarra.
2009: Service centre in Poland is reorganized into a new company : Tinplate Service Centre, S.z.o.o. “TSC”
2010: TSC in POLAND gets the ISO 9001 certification.
2011: Change in shareholding due to the retirement of the partners managers.
2014: Opening of a new service centre in ÁLAVA .Sixth cutting line.
2017: Reorganization of the cutting service centres. The centres in LA RIOJA and OYON merged into a new service centre also located in LA RIOJA. The third cutting line is moved from San Adrián (NAVARRE) to the new centre.
2018: Change in shareholding. PROMETAL BAKLI group takes over the 77% of COMESA.
